Bruce D. Ensminger, 85, of Mendon passed away on Monday, May 1 2017 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Bruce was born on March 9, 1932 in St. Albans Township, Hancock County to the late Fred and Maude (Leckbee) Ensminger. He married Esther Krutmeier on July 20, 1968 in Peoria. Esther survives of Mendon.

Also surviving are; one step-son, Rick (Cheryl) Hardy of Arlington, TX., four children, Tonia (Marvin) Staples of Sebring, FL., Pam Ensminger of Rutherfordton, N.C., Richard (Kathy) Ensminger of Rutherfordton, N.C., Jay (Raenett) Ensminger of Clewiston, FL.,  six grandchildren, Leslie (Nathan) King, Andrew (Ashley) Hardy, Jonathon (Brittney) Hardy, Michael (Cory) Langston, Michelle Langston, Amber Ensminger, nine great-grandchildren, Braden Langston, Kaden Langston, Brinley Harris, Winter Ensminger, Aaron King, Tyler Hardy, Jackson Hardy, Gracie Hardy and Allison Owens.  Bruce is also survived by one sister, Kay (Danny) Cheney of Loraine and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by; two brothers, Carroll Ensminger, Ronnie Ensminger and one sister, Betty Sullivan.

Bruce served his Country in the United States Navy. He was retired from Gardner Denver in Quincy after several years of employment as a Machinist. He loved taking his grandchildren fishing, loved being outdoors and was an avid coon hunter. He loved square dancing and was a wonderful square dance caller. Bruce was an avid CB radio operator and he loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.

As per Bruce’s wishes he was cremated. There are no services planned at this time. Memorial contributions in his memory have been suggested to the American Cancer Society. You may share condolences of Bruce and leave condolences at www.hunterfuneralhomes.com.
