Donna Jo Myers, 73, of Loraine passed away at 1:53 A.M. on Friday, September 8, 2017 in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Donna was born on May 17, 1944 in Quincy to the late Donald Norris and Doris Baker. She married Wayne K. Myers on June 1, 1963 in Madison Park Christian Church in Quincy. Wayne survives of Loraine.
Donna was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point. She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for the Four Star Public Library in Mendon. Donna worked for 11 summers at the Old Faithful General Store in Yellowstone National Park, where she sold Native American jewelry. She really treasured her experiences and made many wonderful friends while working in Yellowstone.
Donna was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed every minute spent with her grandchildren. She especially loved sewing for them , attending her two grandson’s sporting events, attending her granddaughters rodeo events and visiting with her autistic grandson in Northern Illinois. She also enjoyed playing the Piano.
In addition to Wayne, Surviving are; two daughters, Brenda (Bernie) Venvertloh of Quincy, Karen (David) Wilson of Quincy; four grandchildren, Bradley (Fiance Ashley Gooden) Venvertloh of Camp Point, Benjamin Venvertloh of Quincy, Kayla Wilson of Quincy, Nathan Wilson of Quincy; one brother Johnny (Debbie) Lanham of Florida; three sisters, Tracy Bachetti Lowery of California, Dawn Kares of California and Kerri Norris of California.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Myers and one brother, Danny Lanham.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in the Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point with Pastor Tom Robbins officiating. Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery, near Ursa. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 11, 2017 in the Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Faith Baptist Church or Transitions of Western Illinois.
