Aaron A. Stockhecke, 90, of Ursa passed away at 4:20 A.M. on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in the Whitehall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whitehall.
Aaron was born on October 191928 in Ursa to the late Arthur and Marie (Frazier) Stockhecke. He married Juanita Stone on February 23, 1951 in Warsaw. Juanita passed away on October 13, 2003.
Aaron served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bear Creek American Legion Post 823 in Mendon and the Adams County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed going to the Sportsmen’s Park in St. Louis before Busch Stadium and watching baseball games. He also loved going to livestock Auctions and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are; four children, Theresa Johnson of Quincy, Monica (Robert) Maynard of Mendon, Eric (Joni) Stockhecke of Mendon, Lynne Stockehecke of Mendon; four grandchildren, Bryon (Nicole) Leerhoff of Quincy, Chad (Paula) Maynard of Mendon, Gretchen MacLaren of Florida, Luke (Melissa) Maynard of Mendon; nine great-grandchildren, Gabe and Nick Maynard, Kelsey and Nathan Leerhoff, Brody, Ayla and Mia Maynard, Brynne and Aubrie MacLaren; one sister, Ronena Andrew of Quincy and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Voth and Dorine Schnelle.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 29, 2019 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon with Keith Ehresman officiating. Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery near Ursa with Military rites by the Bear Creek American Legion Post 823. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of services on Monday, April 29, 2019 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial contributions have been suggested to Shriner’s Hospital or the Whitehall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whitehall.
